Pest Control Dhaka
In a move to improve the health of its citizenry, the Government of Bangladesh has come up with a policy for the eradication of bedbugs. After Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently revealed her struggles with the pests, the Bangladesh Pest Control Authority announced in January that all hotels and guest houses in the capital city would receive a sticker and warning regarding bedbugs. From March 1, local citizens will be able to report bedbug issues to the authority.
Not only is the move to eradicate bedbugs a big step for Bangladesh, but it also follows a massive plan by the Bangladeshi government to improve its health sector. Within the next decade, the country aims to eradicate all clinical diseases. Following the completion of the Dhaka Central Hospital in 2008, the Dhaka Central Public Health Office also took over the control of Bangladesh’s medical standards. In an attempt to improve the quality of care, the health department has taken on a host of initiatives. At the same time, the government has increased health insurance payments for public servants and implemented extensive efforts to control diseases like malaria.
